Despite good preparation of the emergency response organizations during the initial development of the LNG fuel market, still unexpected incidents could occur and good communication between authorities and LNG industry is essential. For this purpose, a permanent communication platform has been established where authorities, their safety advisors, emergency responders, knowledge institutes and LNG market parties can meet on a regular basis to discuss experiences with unwanted events and possible solutions for potential problems.
This Forum can also take initiatives to organize small projects for the development of solutions for persistent problems that are experienced in the emerging market, not only for onshore LNG operations, but also for marine LNG operations.
The Forum is chaired by a representative of IFV, and a representative of LIOGS (advisory for direct incident response) acts as the secretary of this Forum. An LNG knowledge market is organized annually for relevant staff from the authorities and emergency response, including master classes etc.
