The QRA model for traffic related risks RBMII will be updated by the RIVM based on a AVIV study
RBMII is a software package that is used to assess the risks of transport of hazardous substances on road, rail and water. The RBMII calculating software uses generic substance categories to determine these risks. Since there is no specific substance category for cryogenic liquefied gases, like LNG, the substance category for liquefied pressurized gases (LPG) is used. In 2015, RIVM has requested consultancy firm AVIV to investigate whether this substance category is appropriate for LNG or if RBMII should be updated with an additional substance category. This project has resulted in a draft report that lists several options regarding the update of RBMII. RIVM will evaluate the proposed options and provide a recommendation to the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment.
