The research on the interim regulation for consequence based land use planning for LNG-fueling stations was performed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Envrioment.
The LNG interim policy includes safety distances based on consequences for the purpose of land-use planning, and is issued under authority of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment on February 4, 2015 (Staatscourant nr 3125). The LNG refuelling stations are the first type of installation that will use a new consequence-based approach, additional to the risk-based approach. All stakeholders were involved in applying this new method on the safety distances for LNG refuelling stations.
